Orthodontic Wire Treatment
Orthodontic brace treatment is a dental treatment method used to correct conditions such as irregular alignment of teeth, jaw problems and bite corrections and to achieve an aesthetically better smile. This treatment is applied to bring the teeth into a more correct position, correct the jaw structure and optimise chewing function. Braces treatment is often referred to as “bracket and wire treatment” because it is performed using small fasteners called brackets and wires.
Orthodontic brace treatment provides great benefits in terms of aesthetics and self-confidence as well as creating a healthier oral structure. Dental and jaw problems corrected with brace treatment are also important in terms of protecting oral health and preventing possible dental problems in the future.

Braces treatment may include the following steps:
- Examination and Evaluation: Before starting treatment, the dentist or orthodontist performs an intraoral examination and x-ray imaging to evaluate the patient’s tooth structure and create the appropriate treatment plan.
- Bracket and Wire Application: When treatment begins, brackets are cemented onto the teeth. Brackets are small fasteners placed on the tooth surfaces. Then, metal or transparent wires are attached between the brackets. These wires are adjusted in a special way to align and straighten the teeth correctly.
- Regular Adjustments: During treatment, the dentist or orthodontist will adjust the brackets and wires at regular intervals. Thanks to these adjustments, the teeth slowly move to their target positions.
- Retainer Use: When the treatment is completed, it is usually recommended to use a special appliance or plate called a retainer. The retainer helps to maintain the new positions of the teeth and prevents unwanted movements.
The duration of brace treatment may vary depending on the treatment plan, the condition of the teeth and jaw structure and individual needs. Your dentist or orthodontist will give you more information about the most appropriate treatment duration and plan.
